Today
witnessed the release of 2 (two) new versions of Android: 1.6, Release 2 and 2.0.1, Release 1.
I'd like to know two things:
- Who happened to come up to this horrendous versioning schema and
- Where is Android 2.0, Release 1
Just in case the news went past the fine gentlemen at Google... Apache Software Foundation has for ages had written
versioning guidelines that Java community came to respect and follow. While the desire to innovate is understandable, the developer community will highly appreciate sticking to the standard.
Android 2.0 Platform is gone from the developer site. What does
that mean? Was it a royal screw-up that nobody wants to remember?
Anyone has a plausible explanation?
